Ear Candling
Ear Candling is a centuries-old remedy that dates back to ancient Egypt. It provides a way to put heat into the ear in a non-invasive and gentle manner.
Ear Candling relieves pain in the ears, sinus and migraine headaches, sinus and allergy problems, fluid in the ears, ringing in the ears and sleepless nights from earaches. It removes earwax and debris, which usually results in improved hearing.
You will lie on your side on a massage table with your head on a pillow. The hollow candle is placed in a hole in a plate and the smaller opening of the candle (made of 100% unbleached cotton, beeswax paraffin) is gently placed inside the ear. The therapist lights the opposite end of the candle with a lighter that creates a vacuum effect, and the heat from the candle draws out excess earwax and debris.
As the hollow candle burns, you'll hear sounds of swooshing air and crackling. Allow one hour for the appointment. Typically, two candles are used per ear and each candle takes approximately 15 minutes to burn.
Contraindications: Bleeding, punctured ear drum, infection, recent ear or sinus surgery, colds and flu. Hearing aids and tubes in ears must be removed. Candling is not a cure all or replacement for proper medical care and should not be used as a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment. We recommend you ask for and follow your doctor's advice concerning any heath problems. No claims are made for any cure of disease or ailment.
